In collaboration with researchers from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, HiLabs co-authored a peer-reviewed study published in BMC Health Services Research.
The study analyzed the consistency of physician directory information, including practice addresses, phone numbers, and specialty data, across five national U.S. health insurer provider directories, covering more than 449,000 physicians. The research found that provider directory inaccuracies are a systemic challenge, with significant variation by physician specialty and state, underscoring the need for technology-enabled solutions and national standards to improve provider data quality.
